Anticipation is a funny thing. About to happen. Almost there. Not quite just yet. Soon? Soon.
I’m slowly de-Google-ing my life with the help of a number of services not the least of which is Proton. Mail is/was easy as I’d been kind of juggling the two for 15 years or so anyway. Migrating from Google Calendar is not as simple, in part because Proton Calendar is encrypted so syncing back and forth is a bit problematic. For assistance I went to Google’s AI SI Gemini and told it I wanted to stop using Google Calendar and move to Proton Calendar and what should I do and it basically said “lol, good luck.” After some back and forth it gave me a more actionable multi-step process that gradually moves from one to the other, but it could take a year of habit and process changes.
One possibly useful note is that Proton Calendar now has Booking Pages similar to Google Calendar’s Booking pages which if you aren’t familiar is essentially native Calendly. I thought this meant I could switch that over right away, but because Proton is encrypted Google Calendar wouldn’t know if I booked something, so for now I’m still using Google for that.
In a previous note I was raving about Wubbushi’s HOLY collection and since then prices on those pieces have doubled. Feels like a little bit of validation though honestly I wish they’d stayed lowered for a little longer because there’s one I have my eye on and it’s now that much harder to grab. Similarly I was talking to friends last week and advising on picking up some pieces by Snowfro and LarvaLabs because the prices seemed surprisingly low then and anytime you can get blue chip classics at a deal it’s a good idea, I of course didn’t take my own advice and now prices on have jumped back up 30% or more. This does not mean I’m any kind of a sage advisor on this, I fully suspect the next thing I buy to crash just after I’ve bought it. Though Rudxane’s new series looks really solid and this is a good excuse to show off the gallery thing I’ve been building.
It’s been a while since I got a new pair of Iron Heart jeans, though to be fair the ones I’ve had for almost 10 years now are still fantastic. Living in Tokyo was amazing for this, I could order online, pay in cash at the kombini down the street, and they’d be delivered before the end of the week at half the cost anywhere else in the world. Their 1955 model (which is similar to a 501 cut) is really nice and when The Shop (which is local to me now) recently got in some black overdyed pieces including my size I had to grab them. Now you might say “Sean how is this anticipation because you just went down to the store and bought them?” and to that I would say “This is 14oz Japanese denim we’re talking about, overdyed. That means I’ve got a few weeks of wearing them everyday to break them in just right, and over that time they will turn my hands grey every single day.” Follow me for more high fashion tips and tricks.
My old friends Integrity are playing here this weekend with Judge and Earth Crisis which still is an insane bill I can’t believe is happening in the year of our lord two-thousand-twenty-six. So of course I’m going. See you in the pit. Just kidding, I’ll see you leaning against a wall on the side somewhere sorta singing along. Or if I can pull it off somewhere near the stage taking some photos.
Also there’s a new/old World of Warcraft coming out soon WoW:Forever, which is like the og game before all the dumb expansions and I’m already in the beta for that runnin’ around doing horde shit. All this before we get Grand Theft Auto IV. What a world.
