Once upon a time we had blogrolls and before that we had webrings. I laugh when I think back to those days when you’d sometimes feel like you’d seen everything online and could just just go do something else while you waited for someone to post something new tomorrow. Things are a bit different now, not the least of which is that as of June 2026 web traffic is more bots than humans. Which is why I kind of love this slashfriends idea from Nick Gray. Here’s a few real people I actually know in person who are still writing real posts on their own websites somewhat regularly.
Fuck that was harder than I thought, most everyone is just writing newsletters or chasing likes on social media now. I may have been too strict on that criteria and I’m sure I’m missing someone(s) obvious so I’ll update this from time to time, thanks for the motivation Nick!
